About Us
Living in Oregon’s Rogue Valley is fantastic!
Some of our local attractions include The Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The Craterian Theater.
Southern Oregon is also a haven for outdoor recreation including the Table Rocks,
Crater Lake National Park and the beautiful Rogue River for steelhead and salmon fishing
as well as white water rafting. The Rogue Valley is well known for its pears, the basis
for the orchards of Harry & David and Jackson & Perkins, the Pear Blossom Festival and
the inspiration for our very popular juicy pear soap.
Initially, I started making soap because I have very dry skin and was looking for a
healthier product. I started researching how to make my own soap.
There are hundreds of recipes out there. I started with a basic recipe and over three years
improved it by making a blend with 5 different oils and adding oatmeal to gently exfoliate
and cleanse as well as home-grown herbs for fragrance and texture.
Consequently, I’ve created a wonderful soap, which is the excellent quality bar that it is today.
The blend of oils to create the base formula is the highest quality available and
includes extra virgin olive oil, palm, coconut, castor and safflower oils.
All true soap is made by combining lye, water and a blend of specific oils together
at just the right temperature. This unique chemical reaction is called saponification
of which glycerin is a natural by-product. After this sets up, essential oils,
dried herbs and oatmeal are added to create tantalizing scents that will exfoliate and
cleanse to leave you feeling fresh.
For a while, making soap was a functional hobby for me.
So many people loved the product that they encouraged me to start selling it.
Recently, my daughter Beki and my husband Mike joined me in the business.
We love working together as a family and have fun making our products.
This web-based business is a dream come true for all of us…we express the greatest of
gratitude to our customers who have helped make us who we are today.
We, as a family, also feel that giving back to our community is important.
One of our projects is to support Breast Cancer Awareness.
We have a heavy family history and have lost 2 close family members to this disease.
We participate in the mammography drive and yearly mammogram programs.
We are continually refining our contributions to our local facility,
the Leila J. Eisenstein Breast Center at Providence Medical Center.
Currently, $1.00 is donated to Providence Breast Center for each pink 4oz goddess
oatmeal soap in tropical citrus that we sell!
Also, we are a “green” company…being careful to recycle as much as possible and take care of our environment.
