What's the difference between essential oils, fragrance oils and carrier oils?
Essential oils are concentrated aromatic plant extracts collected through a process of steam distillation.
Fragerence oils are blended synthetic aroma compounds or natural essential oils that are diluted with a carrier.
Carrier oils, also known as base oils or vegetable oils, are used to dilute essential oils and absolutes before they are applied to the skin. They are called carrier oils because they "carry" the essential oil onto the skin. These are generally odorless and do not evaporate like essential oils.
